Knife to wobble drive

I'm not sure if I'm going to continue this blog anymore due to covid.

The entire business has disappeared overnight. Possibly by next year sometime it may resume in some form.

I have essentially retired involuntarily. Anyway here are some thoughts.

My favorite utility knife;   (blue or yellow)

Lutz 35701#357 Yellow Quick Change Heavy Duty Utility Knife and Plastic Holster (357-YL)

Lutz 35699#357 Blue Quick Change Heavy Duty Utility Knife is practically indestructible, super simple to change blades and only about $10 US. It has a tapered butt end so that it doesn't slip in your hand.

The only downside is you can't use the butt end like a hammer. It will break. So, don't do that.

     At Amazon

   My favorite ratchet;

1/4 in. Drive Quick Release Ratchet

PITTSBURGH

1/4 In. Drive Quick Release Ratchet

   sku 62175, 40592, 69349, 62245  at Harbor Freight.
Don't bother with any other style, flex, plastic composite handle or anything else, including the higher end Icon brand. You may lose them or they walk away if you know what I mean. It's good enough and at the right price. They last for quite a while. If broken or whatever, just get another one. In fact, have spares on hand at home.
Don't bother with 3/8 drive ratchets or larger at trade shows. You will almost never use them. The rare time you might need them, you will probably be warned ahead of time that you will need them.
      extra bits, maybe a 3-6'' extension, 1/4 to 3/8 adapter, and a
1/4''  wobble drive. They are not for impact use at all. Be careful when getting wobble drives there are at least a dozen different styles of these things and most are worthless.
u-joint style;  only use name brands, the noname are worthless.
extension with wobble ok if a decent brand but not as useful
heavy duty u-joint style for impact only if you have an impact gun
           otherwise skip
flex spring style are mostly worthless. avoid
There is a style that is a 1/4'' drive that uses a ball end hex adapter to the male 1/4'' that is hard to get. I have only seen it on ebay. It is quite good and only available from China. I use it in my screwgun all the time.

2pcs/Set 1/4" 3/8" Hex Shank Impact Driver Power/Tool Drill Bits Socket Adapter
This is a key word search on ebay that mostly works.

Tool Parts 2pcs/Set 1/4 3/8 Hex Shank Impact Driver Power Tool Drill Bits Socket Adapter    Keyword search on Amazon that sometimes works
